Company owners beware of school fees scheme

Markets tax scheme. According to HMRC, a tax avoidance scheme is being marketed to owner-managed companies which diverts dividend income from themselves to their minor children. The scheme primarily, but not exclusively, has the aim of using the diverted income to pay for their children’s school fees. HMRC believes the scheme does not work and will challenge anyone using it.
